Με ιδιαίτερη λαμπρότητα γιορτάσθηκαν τα Θεοφάνια σε ολόκληρη τη χώρα.
Επίκεντρο των εορταστικών εκδηλώσεων του Δήμου ΑχιλΛείων της Κέρκυρας είναι,
όπως κάθε χρόνο, το λιμάνι της Μπενίτσας. Όπου πλήθος κόσμου, μέλη του
δημοτικού συμβουλίου, η φιλαρμονική Γαστουρίου λόγω και του καλού καιρού
παραβρέθησαν στην τελετή του αγιασμού των υδάτων.

Δώδεκα χιλιόμετρα νότια της πόλης της Κέρκυρας στο μέσον περίπου του
νησιού, βρίσκεται το γραφικό χωριό των Μπενιτσών.
Λόγω των ιδιαίτερων χαρακτηριστικών, όπως το ήπιο κλίμα, οι φυσικές
ομορφιές, ο ιστορικός και ο πολιτιστικός πλούτος, οι Μπενίτσες προσέλκυσαν
ήδη από τις αρχές του αιώνα τους τουρίστες που επισκεπτόνταν το νησί της
Κέρκυρας. Τόπος έλξης όμως ήταν και νωρίτερα, όπως κατέγραψαν στις
αναφορές τους σημαντικοί περιηγητές.
Σήμερα έξω από το χωριό των Μπενιτσών βρίσκονται αφ'ενός τα απομεινάρια
της Γέφυρας του Kaiser,που ένωνε την παραλία με το Αχίλλειο για την εύκολη
πρόσβαση του Γουλιέρμου Β' στη θάλασσα και αφ'ετέρου το υδραγωγείο που
κτίσθηκε το 1831 απο το Βρεττανό αρμοστή Adams, για να υδροδοτήσει την
πόλη της Κέρκυρας.
Σήμερα στο χωριό συναντά κανείς τα ερείπια ρωμαϊκών θερμών λουτρών,
που έφεραν πρόσφατα στο φως αρχαιολογικές έρευνες. Ο μεγάλος αριθμός
εκκλησιών με σημαντικό αρχιτεκτονικό πλούτο, σε συνδυασμό με τα
παραδοσιακά κτίσματα, τα γραφικά καλντερίμια και την φυσική ομορφιά του
τοπίου με τις πηγές και την πλούσια βλάστηση, συνθέτουν ειδυλιακά την
εικόνα των Μπενιτσών και αποτελούν ευχάριστη έκπληξη για τον επισκέπτη.

The picturesque village of Benitses is situated 12 miles south of the town of Kerkyra, a/most in the middle of Cor f u island. The activities of the inhabitants of Benitses are divided between fishing, agriculture and tourism.Tourism has developed greatly in the last years, with the renovation of traditional buildings while considerable capital was invested for the creation of new Hotel Units and Lodgings, as well as new roads and a harbour.The privileged position of Benitses allows the visitor to explore not only the town of Kerkyra, but also a number of other worth seeing sites of the island.
